FAQ’s
How much do these cost?
– Typically, structural packages with dried-in specialty (T&G Decking) and common components come in at about $125 per square foot. Proposals are free.
How can I learn more about timber framing, and what kind of construction that is?
– Google it, timber frame construction. There is a ton of resources about it. Mostly, it has to do with exposed heavy timbers. At its simplest, timber frame building is an ancient and robust method of construction that uses heavy, squared-off wooden posts and beams to create the structural “skeleton” of a house.
Unlike modern “stick-built” homes, which use many thin pieces of lumber and thousands of nails, timber framing relies on massive, solid timbers connected by intricate joinery—usually a mortise (a hole) and a tenon (a tongue) held together by wooden pegs. Because the frame is strong enough to support the entire weight of the roof and floors, the interior often features beautiful, exposed wood and large, open living spaces without the need for many load-bearing walls.
Do you provide turn key solutions including doors, windows, cabinets, etc?
– Generally, no. We ship timber packages worldwide with distribution as far away as Japan. If you have a unique situation, we are all ears. But, much of the finishing work is left to you and your General Contractor (local builder). Our proposal will detail all that is included.

Is there a site for the Japanese Hearthstone builder?
– Yes, https://www.hearthstone.jp/en/
